La Capannina Italian Restaurant Sydney

Disappointing. We looked forward to this restaurant based on the great reviews. Just moved into the area, we tried it out on a Friday night. Restaurant is extremely noisy if you have a table in the interior. The food was average (we tried steak, pasta, salads, desert). Rather small portions. This is not necessarily bad, but not great given the prices. Small talk with the waiter, who was trying to score points telling stories about Germany when I told him that I am originally from there, but was clearly not interested including my wife, who is Mexican, in the conversation. This felt really awkward. Overall we did not feel the hype was justified. The Italian on Bligh Street is clearly our preferred option in Kirribilli.

Beautiful authentic Italian food in a stunning setting. In Milsons Point with the Harbour Bridge as the backdrop sets the scene for this long established restaurant. The service was first class from start to finish. Started with the salmon which was beautiful. The fillet of beef for mains was perfectly cooked. The selection of Italian wine is first rate too. Highly recommended.

Last night I celebrated my 70th birthday at this lovely restaurant. I cannot recommend it more highly we were a table of 13 including 4 children. The food was fabulous we had a mixture of share entrees and main meals and all the children had pasta dishes which they absolutely loved, chips, bread and gelato. We all finished with birthday cake which was brought out with musical accompaniment expertly played by the owner. The staff were very attentive to our needs even though the restaurant was packed with patrons. We all had a great night couldn't have been better and we will all be visiting again. Kathryn Brown

A classic family owned and run Italian restaurant - tucked away under the lead up to Sydney Harbour Bridge in North Sydney. Super friendly and attentive for the whole time we were there. The menu looked amazing, and they even catered for us plant based types. Great ambience and even though they were busy with what looked like a strong regular crowd they looked after us with delicious food served at a leisurely pace that allowed us to thoroughly enjoy each course as it came. The espresso at the end was delicious too. Perfect for a relaxed dinner with friends or a romantic evening for two.
